This holiday home in L'Escala was wonderful. We stayed for 4 full weeks and there were 5 of us most of the time. This home is very well maintained and everything worked. The beds are comfortable and we were never short of hot water for showers. The kitchen is compact but very adaquate. We all enjoy cooking, consequently, we cooked most of our own meals and some of them were rather elaborate. The location of this home is rather beautiful. The common area with the swiming pool is very well maintained with a beautiful lawn and nice landscaping. The front and back yards of the home are both equiped with table and chairs which made it easy for us to spread out and do our owns things. The yard facing the pool has a good barbeque which proved handy. This property is also within walking distance of 3 good grocery stores and a very nice wine shop. It is also within walking distance of the beach and several local attractions. In addition it is very close to the main highway access for people with a car wanting to explore more of the area. The owner of the property, Joan Marc, is easy to contact by phone or e-mail and is most helpful. We found he dealt with any little problem we encountered quickly and efficiently. He also provided us with lots of ideas for enjoying the local area. We will be recommending this holiday home in L'Escala to all of our friends and neighbors. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Wonderfully updated and restored turn of the century "mansion" with pool, high ceilings, air conditioning, well equipped kitchen and washer and dryer. The owner/manager was very helpful meeting the first guest to arrive, coming by to check on us and offering helpful information re:stores, restaurants, etc. many within walking distance. The location is far enough from the busy part of town to be quiet yet close enough to walk to (particularly down hill into town). Only minor complaint is that the bathrooms were not "en suite" as they appeared to be in the photos. A thoroughly enjoyable experience that I have no hesitancy recommending to others. … see more
We rented the house for two weeks for a family with one child. First of all, Joan Marc is very passionate about his house and you feel he really cares about what he is offering to you for rent. That nice passion passes too. Joan Marc was very helpful at the time we were still considering where and what to rent as well as before and at the time of our arrival. All information and recommendation were very helpful and proved useful. The house is nice and convenient. Everything at the house and all the appliances were working very well. Internet connection was perfect (important for those who has to work during the vacation). The house still has some fashion charm, and we especially liked the wooden sun blinds. The back yard / garden is a closed area which is being kept clean and well maintained. The swimming pool is just excellent, especially for kids (but is enjoyable for adults too). It is clean and safe, and was very helpful when it was windy by the sea. The more we were staying in the house, the more we liked it. The house is located close to a few supermarkets and beaches, though we were always using a car to go there (mostly because it was a bit too hot to walk around around mid-day). L'Escala is a lovely town, very conveniently located if one wants to travel around Costa Brava and northern Catalunya. There are so many nice places within about one up to two hours drive. There are also many nice places to visit in L'Escala itself. Recommendations of Joan Marc re restaurants proved to be excellent - local cuisine in L'Escala is second to none. The house is definitely one of the best vacation houses available in L'Escala. We were very happy that we spent our vacation in the house, and we would highly recommend it.

Some people have posted horrible pictures on this yelp review site, but I have never had any issues with the quality of food here, and my mom liked everything and she knows how to cook and had a built in Wok at her last house having taken classes in Chinese cooking.  It seems a lot of people get To-go orders from here I guess they are freaked out by the mostly empty place, I am sure more will come back once Bell-Air is done with construction.

We stayed at the villa for two weeks in August. We went as two families who are still really good friends!!! We pulled up outside and decided we must have the wrong place as it was a castle! It is very clean and very well equipped. It is obviously a well loved, lived in family holiday home.The beds were very comfy and the air con a must in August. The pool was an amazing 32 degrees and it was lovely to swim in the evening with the lights on. A car is a must. We fished from a boat (and shopped at the markets!) for our supper. Seafood, and fresh fruit and veg are a foodies dream. We all love to shop and cook and spend time together so was our ideal holiday. Loads of games and books so you won't need to take any. Luxury holiday accommodation at garden level, has 3 bedrooms with stunning sea views across Crantock beach from the sitting/dining room and all three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed and patio doors out onto the terrace. There are a further two bedrooms with zip-and-link beds and the other with a double bed, both of which also have patio doors into the garden.
Some villas have specific days of the week for check-in and checkout, (usually a Saturday) so ensure this fits in with your plans. If you're looking for a 10-day break, for example, you might want to book a week at a villa plus three nights at a hotel.  The same goes for weekend breaks – during peak holiday periods these may not be permitted unless there's a last minute booking or a cancellation.

Our experience both with you and at 32 Marble Arch budget Flats has been fantastic. Regarding your customer service I can only say that in our interaction you have been extremely responsive, friendly and helpful; I can only thank you so much. Personnel from reception was very kind and also very helpful, attending our requests. The place itself I consider to be excellent value for money. The room was spacious, well equipped and -except on weekends- with daily cleaning service. The location is simply superb.

The next time, my takeout order was for three dishes at $5.99 each; my calculator told me the bill as presented came to a little more than 10% over $17.97 ($5.99 dishes x 3.)  When I questioned the total bill, the cashier told me it was $17.97 for the food plus tax.  I told him that would make the sales tax over 10%; he told me he charged just what the "bossey" (his term) said to charge.  I reminded him that sales tax in Sacramento is not 10%.  I wrote down the math for him, applying the going sales tax rate and told him the bill was 60 cents more than it should be.  He then said there is a 10 cent charge per takeout container.  I said ok, then I'll pay the bill, less 30 cents, to which he agreed.
