We visited Cisternino and Martina Franca markets, tasted amazing pecorino and bought kilos of fresh local fruit and vegetables.We dined at Bel Italia in Cisternino, tucked into pizzas in Martina Franca, visited vineyards and olive groves and had several walks in the lanes around the villa picking wild blackberries on the way. If you like Shanghai food like XLB, zha jiang mein.... This is the place to go to. It is not on their menu. They have hand-made noodles that are chewy and thick. Their xlb pops in your mouth with delicious soup. I ordered their green onion pancakes as well and it is crispy and chewy and light. I never came here for their regular Chinese food, but I found out they had a Shanghai menu -- it is amazing. Give this place a try, it won't disappoint!
When it comes to choosing the date of your villa holiday, remember that weeks in the school holidays get booked up very early – some of the best villas are booked 12 months in advance. So be prepared to book early to get the accommodation you want, or to be flexible and change your dates. Also, check your flight times. Most villas need to be vacated in the morning and are not available for new arrivals until late afternoon. So try to time your flights or ferries accordingly to prevent having to hang around.

We rented the house for two weeks for a family with one child. First of all, Joan Marc is very passionate about his house and you feel he really cares about what he is offering to you for rent. That nice passion passes too. Joan Marc was very helpful at the time we were still considering where and what to rent as well as before and at the time of our arrival. All information and recommendation were very helpful and proved useful. The house is nice and convenient. Everything at the house and all the appliances were working very well. Internet connection was perfect (important for those who has to work during the vacation). The house still has some fashion charm, and we especially liked the wooden sun blinds. The back yard / garden is a closed area which is being kept clean and well maintained. The swimming pool is just excellent, especially for kids (but is enjoyable for adults too). It is clean and safe, and was very helpful when it was windy by the sea. The more we were staying in the house, the more we liked it. The house is located close to a few supermarkets and beaches, though we were always using a car to go there (mostly because it was a bit too hot to walk around around mid-day). L'Escala is a lovely town, very conveniently located if one wants to travel around Costa Brava and northern Catalunya. There are so many nice places within about one up to two hours drive. There are also many nice places to visit in L'Escala itself. Recommendations of Joan Marc re restaurants proved to be excellent - local cuisine in L'Escala is second to none. The house is definitely one of the best vacation houses available in L'Escala. We were very happy that we spent our vacation in the house, and we would highly recommend it.

Found a bug in my food on my last bite, totally disgusted I rushed back immediately to get a refund and the guy acted as if it was a big deal. He didn't apologize or anything! I'm NEVER eating there again and I advise you not to eat there as well unless if you like bugs in your dipping sauce. I'm taking legal action because I got sick from this place too! Save your money it's not worth it!
Cancellations: Please notify our office immediately if you need to cancel your lease. All cancellations must follow in writing. If we are able to re-rent your dates for said property, all rents will be refunded less a 15% (of all rent due) cancellation fee. The processing & damage fee is non-refundable. The tenant is not responsible for the cleaning charges. Please be advised that under the terms of your lease you are responsible for all rents due. We will do our best to re-rent the property under the same terms as your lease to a new tenant, however, we cannot guarantee re-rental.
