We stayed at the villa for two weeks in August. We went as two families who are still really good friends!!! We pulled up outside and decided we must have the wrong place as it was a castle! It is very clean and very well equipped. It is obviously a well loved, lived in family holiday home.The beds were very comfy and the air con a must in August. The pool was an amazing 32 degrees and it was lovely to swim in the evening with the lights on. A car is a must. We fished from a boat (and shopped at the markets!) for our supper. Seafood, and fresh fruit and veg are a foodies dream. We all love to shop and cook and spend time together so was our ideal holiday. Loads of games and books so you won't need to take any. We rented the house for two weeks for a family with one child. First of all, Joan Marc is very passionate about his house and you feel he really cares about what he is offering to you for rent. That nice passion passes too. Joan Marc was very helpful at the time we were still considering where and what to rent as well as before and at the time of our arrival. All information and recommendation were very helpful and proved useful. The house is nice and convenient. Everything at the house and all the appliances were working very well. Internet connection was perfect (important for those who has to work during the vacation). The house still has some fashion charm, and we especially liked the wooden sun blinds. The back yard / garden is a closed area which is being kept clean and well maintained. The swimming pool is just excellent, especially for kids (but is enjoyable for adults too). It is clean and safe, and was very helpful when it was windy by the sea. The more we were staying in the house, the more we liked it. The house is located close to a few supermarkets and beaches, though we were always using a car to go there (mostly because it was a bit too hot to walk around around mid-day). L'Escala is a lovely town, very conveniently located if one wants to travel around Costa Brava and northern Catalunya. There are so many nice places within about one up to two hours drive. There are also many nice places to visit in L'Escala itself. Recommendations of Joan Marc re restaurants proved to be excellent - local cuisine in L'Escala is second to none. The house is definitely one of the best vacation houses available in L'Escala. We were very happy that we spent our vacation in the house, and we would highly recommend it.
