At James Villas we're all about taking care of the little things that make your Big Holiday! This is the most important week or two of your year, so we want to make it as magical and stress-free as possible. This property is in a perfect location, just a 5 min drive or 15-20 minute walk from the old town and beaches and a 5 min walk to a lidl and mercadona supermarket. The villa is in a private little area accessible only through the properties surrounding the pool. On street parking was always available outside. Everything you need inside: washing machine, dishwasher, fully equipped kitchen, outside seating front and back of the property, clothes airer, fan, smart tv, dvd player (no HDMI cable so couldn't use it but logged into our netflix account. Joan Marc said it may have gone when the new tv arrived so he will get a new one), wifi. The area is beautiful with the ruins, small and beautiful medieval town, the old town and further along a busier more touristy area but still not massively commercialised. In the surrounding area there are waterparks, watersports, stunning beaches within short driving distance (Montgo). Parking in the area is great, mostly free on the streets, near beaches and free car parks - small areas are pay for parking but mostly in the old town area so makes driving more accessible. The ting ting train runs all the time and is great if you walk along to any of the towns/beaches then don't want to walk back :) One minor downside was that on arrival at the property at 9pm saturday night there had been a misunderstanding with the cleaner and our arrival date so we had no towels or bedding but the lovely man who let us in; Josep couldn't do enough to help and we got some blankets and towels (too hot for anything more than a sheet luckily). We emailed the owner Joan Marc who was abroad himself but he replied very quickly and had a cleaner round first thing in the morning and then the lady who dealt with the bedding and towels arrived and sorted all of that out, he also offered an additional clean if we wanted it in the week but we didn't feel it was necessary, we were just happy it was all sorted so quickly and we could enjoy our holiday.
Horrible customer service. The food is no different from the bad service. There's only one little old lady who speaks english. The owner is a rude older man who doesn't speak english, but he yells at the workers non stop in front of the costumers. The owner changed his clothes and started working out in the restaurant while I was waiting for my food. Never going back I do not recommend this place.

This amazing place has the real ‘wow’ factor, we’ve really enjoyed relaxing, swimming, drinking gallons of vino, eating like kings, laughing, pool games, siestas in the afternoons, cooking on the barbecue, making the most of the space and relaxing atmosphere. We visited Cisternino and Martina Franca markets, tasted amazing pecorino and bought kilos of fresh local fruit and vegetables.We dined at Bel Italia in Cisternino, tucked into pizzas in Martina Franca, visited vineyards and olive groves and had several walks in the lanes around the villa picking wild blackberries on the way. It has been 'trulli trulli amazing'."
Villa holidays are generally self-catering. Some homes are supplied with large, well-equipped kitchens while others will just have a kitchen corner or kitchenette. You should always have enough pots, pans etc. for the maximum amount of people that can occupy the villa, but if you're planning on a lot of cooking it's best to inquire about the nature of the facilities.

It has been a few years since I last been to Holiday Villa. It was a pleasant surprise to see that they have changed their menu. We decided to give their new menu a try and ordered leek/chive pockets, beef noodle soup, noodles with black bean sauce, scallion pancake and corn chicken dumplings and they were amazing! The dishes were definitely better than I have expected. My family & I greatly enjoyed their handmade noodles. We will definitely be coming  back here!
Some people have posted horrible pictures on this yelp review site, but I have never had any issues with the quality of food here, and my mom liked everything and she knows how to cook and had a built in Wok at her last house having taken classes in Chinese cooking.  It seems a lot of people get To-go orders from here I guess they are freaked out by the mostly empty place, I am sure more will come back once Bell-Air is done with construction.
The Caves of Drach or Dragon Caves, just outside the pretty harbour resort of Porto Cristo are among the island's most outstanding tourist attractions. These sensational cool, dark limestone caves are spread over 2,000 metres of spectacular formations of stalactites and stalagmites. As if this wasn’t enough, in the middle is a massive floodlit lake - one of the biggest underground lakes in the world. The hour long tours are highly organised and vast [more] numbers of visitors are 'processed' through the system every day during the summer in groups of several hundred people at a time. Multi-lingual guides give you the lowdown on the weird stalactite formations with names like the Fairies' Theatre and Diana's Bath, before you are treated to a 10 minute classical music recital by a string quartet. After a light show imitating the sunrise you have the option of crossing the lake by boat or on foot over a bridge. [less]

On the way to the Hotel Formentor, this is a semi circular beach with narrow fringes of sand, clear water and thick pinewoods which lead down to the water. It can be very busy as boats also moor here and there is a daily visit from the glass bottom boat with lots of holidaymakers aboard! There are 2 bars on the beach and parking facilities a short walk away.
